JASON MYSTERIA

If you're here to check out Jason's Emulator II+ for sale, scroll down below the music videos. Thank you.
Jason Mysteria is a 1980's anachronism in music. His synth-pop sound is influenced heavily by genres of the 80's such as New Wave, Top 40 Pop, and R&B Dance. He uses vintage synthesizers and older analog recording equipment to achieve his signature sound. He does not use "soft synths" (software/virtual based instruments). He plays his basslines & melodies humanly on actual keyboards and uses real saxophones & guitars. No auto-tune vocal technology is used on his songs.

Jason has performed on the bill with legendary pop/new wave acts such as Berlin and Missing Persons and has released 3 albums. Most recently, he has provided songs for the official soundtracks of the feature films: Stealing Sunrise, Stealing Sunrise 2: Malibu Trail, Hello, Are You There?, and Just For A Week.
Jason has also appeared on the podcast shows "Beyond Synth" hosted by Andy Last and "Synthwave Sundays" hosted by DJ Spaz.

E-mu Emulator II" Shining Moments! (my synth in popular 80's music)

Jason Mysteria's EMU Emulator II+ is for sale!
$6,750 (Price includes personal hand delivery within 150 miles of Phoenix). Will not ship.
See photo gallery below.

This is the "Emulator II+" which is the higher memory version of the Emulator II. This very Emulator II+ in my possession came from Western Studios in Hollywood, Ca (known as Ocean Way Studios at this time) and this very one in my hand has more than likely been immortalized on dozens of hit records from 1985-1992 by legends who recorded at this studio such as Madonna, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston, Phil Collins, and the list goes on. They may have even put their hands on this very one themselves. Disclaimer: I do not have paper documentation of this. Otherwise, I'd list it with an auction house for a good $10k reserve or more. However, I personally believe it to be reliable.

I got this in 2008 as 4th owner. The major studio got it custom ordered from EMU in 1985. It cost more than the average new car at the time. $10k in 1985 and would have cost $26k if made & sold today. Only big artists and serious studios could afford this at the time. It was the secret weapon of the music industry that separated big hits from independent artists. A studio intern purchased it from them in 1992 on his way out and later sold it to an independent recording studio in Phoenix. When the Phoenix studio went out of business in 2007, I purchased it from them and I've had it since. I was told that they didn't even use it in Phoenix because they didn't want to take the time to learn.

This is the best and most original Emulator II or II+ on eBay or for sale anywhere in the world that I know of. Everything is all original. All parts. No issues at all.

There is one listed on eBay for $6.2k with a missing drive and a replacement digital mp3 drive instead so you can't even get the essence of the floppy disk. There is also another one on eBay for $6k with high wear around the buttons and knobs. Most of them have been "Frankenstein-ed" to work. That's not the case here, though. This is more than a cool machine. It's an investment like a classic car or work of art. It has been appreciating consistently over the past 10 years. It is a sampler which means you can "steal" sound banks from any synth in the world whether old or current and this could essentially become a thousand synthesizers in one. You can sample any sound out in the world and make it sound like anything you want.

This one is perfect in every way and every single key is tight in its original white color (no discoloration) and all original parts and face. You can even see the clean insides between the keys in the pics.
Every feature works perfectly. The faders are nice and tight. The buttons are solid and it sounds fantastic. All lights work. Never stored anywhere other than indoors. Never in a garage. Never gigged with, only taken out for glamour shots. Original hard binder manual with the pages still white. Original power cable. Original disks from the Emu factory including the Marcato Strings that the Pet Shop Boys made "West End Girls"  and Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach" on. I even have Phil Collins' signature drums samples he used on songs like "Sussudio". The Phil Collins disk was passed down before me and it may possibly be the data copy from the actual disk used on the song. That's speculation though. In any case, it IS Phil's actual drum samples that you'll hear on his song. I even have the disk for the popular Emu SP-12 drum module.

I have disks with sound banks from the awesome Fairlight, Roland Jupiter, Yamaha DX7, Moogs, Synclavier, sound effects, just so many. I have so many pictures I took, eBay won't let me list that many. It comes with a hard case made specifically for this machine. The disk collection of Kodak and signature Emu company disks alone are worth well over $1k and even priceless for some people for these very samples used on famous hits. I'll throw those in. These sounds can be heard on hundreds of famous hits of the 80's. Check out the video posted directly above this text called "Emu Emulator II-Shining Moments" for just some of the legendary uses by your favorite artists.

It was the soundtrack of many tv shows and movies such as Miami Vice, John Carpenter films, martial arts movies, tv themes, etc. It was Depeche Mode's go-to workhorse for many years, and Ferris Bueller even played it in the movie! Paul McCartney hired an Emulator II professional to his studio staff just to use this on his 1986 album "Press To Play".

I myself have used it on three of my 1980's era sounding pop albums and featured it in several music videos and one 1986 era feature film. You can see this very one here featured in my own music videos above for "Obsession", "Emulate", "Boy On The Side", and "Somebody's Lips". I named all 3 of my albums after it. It's also in the second scene of the movie "Stealing Sunrise" on Tubi. You'll see my videos featuring the synth working.

I will not ship it. I will only hand deliver it to you in the Phoenix valley so there are no problems. I know for sure it's one of the most special pieces of vintage synth equipment anywhere in the world and is irreplaceable. I would be crushed if it got forever damaged by a careless UPS/FedEx worker. It has survived 38 years of flawless care. The only blemish is above the "Emu" area on the back where a few small paint chips are. See pics. $460 hard case in photos included! Feel free to ask me any questions using the form at the bottom.

Price is absolutely firm. I'm not liquidating. Thank you for reading! See photo gallery below. This thing should be in a museum, but it could be in your studio.
